In 2006, a group of grade 9 students in Cheongju city injured their classmates with hair irons, hairpins, and baseball bats. The bullies assaulted the victims for not keeping their promises and not bringing money, and burned them using hair irons while holding onto both arms. Due to the assault, the victim suffered severe burns and a tailbone injury, and received neuropsychiatric treatment due to trauma.
The bullies even carried out punishment, such removing the scab that had not been healed. When the police investigation began, the bullies threatened the victim not to name them.
Case 1:
It is with great concern that news of a school violence incident at an elementary school in Incheon has come to light. According to reports, a second-grade elementary school student was involved in a trampoline playtime with a classmate A. Unfortunately, the student in question fell on the side of her classmate A and ended up with a fractured calf bone. This, however, was not the end of the ordeal, as the classmate in question continued to harass the injured student.
Case 2.
It is an incident in which four middle school girls assaulted a classmate from Mongolia. They filmed the scene and shared the video with other students. The bullies tied her limbs not to move and physically assaulted for 6 hours. They even forcibly fed the cigarette butts and left a video of the assault.
Case 3.
There was an incident in which students and graduates of a middle school assaulted a female middle school student for 17 hours. The bullies are all middle school alumni along with the victim. Nine people, including those in their 20s and teenagers, took turns assaulting a middle school girl for 17 hours on Christmas Day. The reason for the assault was that she said something offensive. The bullies burned the victim’s face with a cigarette and forced her to drink vinegar, cooking oil, and filth. Some even harassed the victim by taking off her top. In order to disguise their crimes as self-defense, they even made the victim hold a weapon and filmed her threatening them with a mobile phone.
Case 4;
A middle school girl was assaulted by six of her friends for four hours at a motel in downtown. They shared the filmed video with their other friends. The reason was that a bully was angry because the victim did not fall when she tripped on her. She took off the girl’s clothes and punched her face numerous times, and streamed the scene to her other friends via video call. She also forced the victim to engage in sex trafficking to earn her money.
Case 5.
Violence acts involving torture took place among peers in a high school dormitory. The bullies forced the victim to ingest body fluids and inserted foreign objects into the victim’s anus.
